I guessing this may be what fixed it.As I said, likely the solemoid not pushing the jackshaft out as far or as hard as it should.

Easiest solution is to put the bike in 1st and rock it a bit. Then hit the starter. I had an issue where the spring would somehow get on the other side of the snap ring. Then the jackshaft would be janky.Hey there. Hey, you had the same exact issue I am currently facing where the jack shaft will not engage the ring gear. Happens once or twice every time I try to start the bike using either the start button or the slam button on the starter itself.I’m just curious if you can help me out and let me know how you addressed it? I have gone through two starters, two brand new batteries, cables, and everything, and I cannot figure it out. Thanks for any help!

I don’t have the snap ring anymore because I have a one piece, but there is a splined washer that slides over the starter shaft and then just hangs out freely and the spring sits against it.Easiest solution is to put the bike in 1st and rock it a bit.
