I took off my front pipe milled in a 7/8 hole and tig welded on a stainless steel o2 sensor bung to make tuning the mikuni hsr 48 a little easier I have an air fuel digital guage to tell me the mix in real time so with tape on the throttle and marks at 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full open I will know what area is rich or lean. when I ordered the bung I also got a plug and selected the long bung to not restrict the pipe so bad. imho this is the cats meow for tuning (unless you have a dino in your garage)

ordered my r&b racing pipe with the 02 sensor bung as well but I still need to order the gage. Who's gage are you going to use? r&b's setup is sweet buts around $350 for the meter and sensor with harness. Nice thing is you can mount it permanent if you want.

Thanks larry I think thats the way I'm going to go because I really don't want to mount a gage on the chopper. The handheld unit will do carb bikes and all I would have to do is screw in the sensor, tune it then remove sensor and put plug back in.

That is exactly the way I've been using the LM-1 since I bought it a few years back. Glad I could help.

I was just going the temp rout too. My box from 15 years ago says Intellitronicx corp. 216-521-9796 . I dont recall who I got it from but it gets used 4 to 5 times a year and has made a lier out of allot "pro" tuners with good noses and ears. I remember it was cheap like 40 or so may have come from J-C Wittney
