Got a new gasket but noticed at the top of the cover has a groove and on the primary has a raised line across the top new gasket not made to except that where can u get rubber one like r in there ?
If you want to avoid breaking the ears off, use half the torque called for. It works for me and no leakage. You do have to recheck the torque after riding a while.
Use gasket sealer and if it says 120 inch lbs use 60.
i just put my rubber ones back on with some blue silicone . did you notice the grove and ridge at the top of the cover i realy think that is what is breaking them i torgued mine to 9 with no problems
I broke one the next time I made my own cork gasket and snugged very gently. Figured if it leaked I would tighten a slight bit more, no leaks....no break. Torque values on covers is a waste of time in my opinion, tighten enough to not leak without over tightening, I don't need a torque wrench for that.
