Ignition key or barrel

Hi,

I've just bought a 2007 K-9 and it arrived less key. Can I get a replacement or do I have to change the whole ignition barrel? Will any type of stock Harley barrel fit?

check the threads on the wire+ install. your existing key is low voltage i think.

Yes, the keyswitch is a low voltage/current switch for switching +5volt signal to ground into the EHC module.

Call BDPP http://www.bdmperformanceproducts.com/ and see if you can order a few keys using the number on the face of the switch barrel.

When I changed mine I used a harley barrel key switch and matched it to my Harleys as all you need is a SPST to exicite the EHC then I had won less key to worry about.

You oughta be able to simply get a replacement key. I've lost several of mine. Not sure how the 07's are (mine's an 06), but on mine, simply look at the barrel. There's a number on there. It should say something like "BD-010" or something like that. Your key should have the same number. BD only made like 10 different keys for the ignitions on my year bike. Any dealer should carry a replacement or have a spare you could make a copy of.
