Ok I will. Give me a bit. I took battery and had it tested and it was good so its still off my bike. I charged it last night also. No backfiring or coughing, just slow turning over. I can't beleive nobody thinks its a starter issue. Be back in hour or so.
Like others have already stated, check to make sure your compression releases are working. They work off the starter button, so with your finger placed on top of the comp. release, push the starter button just for a second, Do you feel the comp. release move downward? Try this with both cyl. It should move down, if not, try pushing it down with your finger, if it does not move down and feels like it is stuck, you will need to replace it or both. They retail for around $90 I believe. If they do move with your finger but not electronically, you may have a bad wire someplace.
As far as testing your starter.... If you have a known good battery, 100% charged and you load tested it and it's 100% as well.... You need to perform a starter drop test.
Get a good Voltage meter. One with Ohms would be better, then you can test all wires to the starter as well. The 4 gauge wires should have no more than 3ohms of resistance threw them. If they do, throw them in the trash and buy new. You want to test the Power and ground wires.
Voltage drop test to starter...
-Take your digital voltage meter, set on voltage DC NOT AC.
-Test Voltage @ Battery, at least 12.8 VDC ?
-Now take your positive meter lead and place it on the starter post, the post that your positive wire is hooked to coming off your battery positive post.
-Take the other meter lead and place it on your negative battery post.
-Turn bike on, voltage should start to drop a little because of the lights being on.
-Hit your Off/Run button to Run, push starter button, while watching Voltage meter, hold starter button for 8-10 seconds or so.
-- Does the Voltage drop below 10 VDC? If so, how much? If it is less than 9.6VDC it most likely is a bad starter.
Try this and let us know what you find.
