I was never happy with the placement of the fuel filter I put on the bike after the carb rebuild. Now and then I'd have symptoms of fuel starvation and almost didn't get it back home one time lol Sometimes it'd flow like a champ, sometimes, not so much. I think I'm going to have to just buy a Pingel filter and mount it just after the petcock so I have as few bends/curves in the fuel hose as possible so I don't have anymore fuel starvation issues and be done with it. It probably wouldn't hurt to pull the petcock too and clean the crud out of it that is surely in it from the inevitable tank liner crumbling away.
Is it just a simple screw on process on the petcock or is there fancy trickery involved that'll throw me for a loop?
