I'll have to post more pictures sometime this week...if I ever get a minute without work

As far as the cause of failure, the pushrod was bent due to the valves hitting the piston.
I ended up putting new piston rings, reworked heads with new Valves, guides, springs, and seats along with brand new S&S rocker boxes and S&S roller rocker arms. I also installed a new cam bearing with the .585 cam Franco already had, new Feuling Lifters, and S&S pushrods. While I was there I also upgraded his DSSC transmission with the new main shaft and all bearings :2thumbs:

On another note, the hardest part of the job is realizing no one in Europe carries Standard tools...everything is Metric over here. It took us 4 days to find a 1/2" 12 point socket for the head bolts :bang: we ended up borrowing from an H-D dealer 40 minutes away
Just busting Franco's chops but I know that we had some fun with him on the pushrod adjustment when he did the 585 change.

Question - Does Spain have Amazon? Could you have ordered a socket and got it shipped next day or 2 day air? Lucky the HD dealer let you borrow it.

I'll have to say my only comment is damn Andrew how do you stay so clean working on the bike? You got on a nice pair of jeans and still remained squeaky clean.

I used Franco's shirt to clean my hands off
They do have Amazon, but there was no time to order. I believe it is not as fast service as it is here in the States. I plan to send him some much needed tools and parts for the next time :2thumbs:

Very nice! That level of work is very intimidating/impressive to me. Was it basically a complete rebuild with upgraded parts?
