I cheated on the Big Dog. It is in the shop so I had an excuse I told myself. I went on a 900 mile trip to the national Corvette museum with my father. I rented a Harley Ultra Limited from the local dealership. I always thought of baggers as an old man’s bike and not my style at all. After the trip my impression is damn, this thing is nice! What I love best is the comfort. Foot boards are now something I envy. Heated hand grips, electric cruise control, built in touch screen navigation, water cooled 103 CI, tons of storage…. It is still sitting in my garage. There is too much I’d need to do to it to bring it up to my standards of appearance but it has my brain thinking.

I've got a Street glide for sale. I'll have to look to see how many miles are on it. I know it's really low. I just found it, so I don't know much about it. I know the price is right. If you or anyone else is interested, let me know and I'll post it. I don't normally mention the Harley's I sell, but this one show room clean.

Its hell getting old, I'm only 41 and said that same thing to myself a few weeks ago. Always hated baggers, but all the sudden some of these custom baggers are looking damn good. Not a fan of the big giant front wheel bikes, but some nicely done stretched and raked baggers with a 23" front wheel are pretty nice. I could see the possibility off picking up a used street glide in a couple years and doing it up a little.
Quick, someone punch me right in the face, need some sense knocked into me!!!

Showdog hooked Ray and I up with a long ride on the pre release Big Dog Bagger some years back, and I have wanted one ever since, only thing I did not like were the floorboards, and I would have to swap out for foot pegs. The 111 motor was strong and the bike handled awesome. When I rode a hd bagger it failed to "do it" for me, I knew the big dog was a better bagger for me, looks incredible also.

ya'll all must be getting old ! I took my son-n-laws street glide back to the place where he bought it for a servicing, about 30 mile ride. It didn't do anything for me after riding the scooter so long. It was like a starter bike that someone had just took the training wheels off. more comfortable yes,,,, oh I am the one that used to slip my step father's electra glide out when he was at work,, always wondered why he seemed to hate my guts:(, and still does :p. When I got the ridgeback , formally known as the scooter till today, I was thrilled as lots of us possibly were. His response, " You are going to get killed on that damn thang!"

Reality Check:
whatever anyone, even old farts, wants to ride tickles the crap out of me,, ride safe and enjoy the ride! ( CRANK it up every once it a while to make sure your are still alive!)

100% agree with you on the floorboards. My brother in law has a 98 Heritage with boards, I've ridden it a few times and the worst part about his bike is those floor boards. He keeps saying once you get used to him you'll want 'em , well I never got used to them! Maybe I'm still not old enough for boards, I guess I'll try again in a few years :oldlaugh:

When I bought my project bagger Bike a few yes ago my wife laughed! She said," I can not believe you bought a paw paw bike"! Then after the motor rebuild, paint and seat rebuild she was ,"oh my, why let's take the ultra today"! But you always find time for the Dog! Like yesterday, I had to run about 45 miles to donate blood, then go by HD dealer for a new brake shoes for the ultra, then go by bank. Ended up being a 90 mile back & forth across town journey but I was spending time with myself & my chopper & loving it!!!

I test rode at the local HD shop a Road Glide and I have to say I was pretty impressed! I definitely want one but with the amount of customization I would have to do to it would pour another 10k into it easy and I dont have that kind of coin to be throwing at a bike. Instead I could buy the K9 I have been eyeing for a while, pay a lot less, and have a bike that looks like it would round-house kick a HD in the mouth.

Since your thinking about a bagger, have you considered those new Victory's? I was in a shop yesterday and I got to tell ya if I was gonna get a bagger I think that's where I'd go, they look pretty cool and supposedly they are bulletproof and ride great!
