If your setup doesn't have a fitting on the flange where it attaches to the carb then you will have to route that hose to the bottom of the bike. You will have to do some research on this as I think most have stated that if you route it to the ground then you need to reverse the check valve. The forward breather hose in unaffected as it's routed to the manifold.Im FINALLY getting this done...bought this thing from Staffy (awesome by the way) not sure about the breather(s)...any help would be great.
What kind of help do you need? Pictures, jets etc?
I have one on mine and pointy end up is the way to go.![]()

My Wimmer came with a fitting to plug it back into the carb to keep things clean.
Here is a picture of it.

Are you referring to these kind of breathers? If so then you don't need them for the SSW motors. We have a different set up then the older bikes that ran breathers. If you have a small K&N filter already on the rear hose coming out of the rear head then through those remote breathers in the tool box and hook up your new air cleaner.Viewed this thread many times. I DONT have the fitting on the bottom of the mount as pictured here so this is kind of where Im stuck...Staffy sent 2 breathers. I know where one goes but not the other and have been searching all day. Even PM'd him to call me so I can get the right direction. Rather do it right the first time ya know...
Ok, then we are back to square one! What's the issue? Its not the breathers you have pictured. Originally, before I put the D&M support bracket on, there was the breather hose, with the one way valve coming off of the front side of the rear cylinder, going to the back of the stock air cleaner plate or mounting bracket. I removed all of the hose except about 3 inches, kept the check valve in it, put the outlet side of the check valve into the small "K&N" type breather as he had pictured when it was on his bike
for some fucking reason I can never get images to post..sorry but thats frustrating as hell
he has pics on his profile one is from the right side of his bike mainly of the motor...
You only have to worry about each hose coming out of each cylinder. If the front hose is still routed to the manifold and the rear hose is going to the little K&N filter you described then you are done.He sent a second breather with a chrome bracket...not sure if I need it or where it would go if I would need it...
You talking about the shift side? If so I can send you the manual photo for how it goes back together.SWEET!!! Ray thank you.
Now for the next "problem" at hand was the question I had on the extended forward controls. I unbolted the right side, put the extension on, bolted the peg and brake back up and done. 5 mins for that side. The left side, took everything apart and noticed a small pin inside the extension and a hole in the foot shift lever...they dont line up. Seems they dont line up on the stocker either. Just wanna make sure I didnt miss anything...
