LISTEN UP!!

If you hook up the scorpio IT WILL NOT EFFECT THE BIKE NEGATIVELY.

The only problem would be that it may drain the battery a bit faster while sitting but that is easily fixed by hooking your bike to a battery tender as you should regarless!!

Installed mine last night. Awesome piece but had the whole house pissed as hell at me while learninig how to run the damn thing. I couldnt get mine anywhere mounted except under the battery tray. Mounted the perimeter sensor on the left side of the battery box top. Maybe got a neat way for the antenna if anyone is interested and seems to work great. On the right back bone base tube back by the battery, I ran 1 1/2 wide clear 3m chaff tape then laid the antenna down and ran another piece on top of the antenna. Looks professional and nice n straight lines. Hookin up ignition disable tonight hopefully! Very nice alarm!

I have the question Johnny B had installition says to run 6 inches of antenna up away from metal. Is it just as good to secure the antenna all the way down to the bike without leaving 6 inches stuck up somewhere? And Gas if you see this i P.med you about the how to on the kill/disable... Thanks for the killer thread on this.:2thumbs: :2thumbs: PEACE OUT

so where do you guys get the cable for big dog? I will buy the SR-i600, also what does the ignition killer does? from what I understand you start the bike and after a few seconds you should press another button or the bike turns off?

You can order the big dog adapter from almost anywhere that sells the unit.

In theory you are right, the ignition kill could stop the bike from being started and also kill the bike if it was running. However this is not true on the big dog because you can't hook the kill inline on the ignition. It will just screw it up.

You can however inhibit starting the bike with a set of instructions I can provide via PM.

You can order the BDM cable directly from them at 1-800-428-0440 or sales@aritronix.com. The one you'll need for your '07 is part number BD-2 ($19.95). I just called them yesterday by the way and they have now verified and just updated their website to show that the BD-2 cable works on '08 and '09 models (EXCEPT BULLDOGS) as well, not just '05-'07.

I'm looking at getting a SR-i900 but I'm really concerned about the battery drain because even on a tender my brand new Wolf starts like shit sometimes. The dealer swears to me that the Interstate 310cca battery is what BDM suggest but I'm probably going to order that Braile so hopefully it won't be an issue or concern later. Then the only question will be if there's any room for it.

For anyone considering buying a Scorpio, now is a great time because they are including not only the bike specific harness BUT the perimeter sensor, battery back up, AND ignition modules as well for FREE. They extended their Spring offer but only until JUNE 15TH! That's over $100 worth of accessories.

Thanks Gas Man! The I900 install went smooth and the tip about the connectors was the smartest move anyone could make in the event of trouble. I really don't know how everyone is installing the mcm under the battery box very hard to fit and strap, I went verticle on the right side of the battery box, as for the antenna i went and straped it to the cables coming from the EHC running downwards that will still qualify it for verticle and not blocked by metal.

Ok, there is alot of talk about installing alarms.

Scorpio Motorcycle Alarms

In my estimation is the best alarm for your bike. It is specifically designed for motorcycles.

It has options that most don't. Such things as tilt, and perimeter. But hands down the best option is the pager.

I have the SR-i500. And its a great system. Now I DID get the BDM harness but its not nessicary cause all it does is make the tail lights flash. THAT IS IT!! If you don't care about that, then dont get it. So lets see what we have to deal with.

The main alarm unit with the bdm harness and power harness pluged in.

The BDM harness that you showed pluged in the unit above

Power harness

The shock & tilt sensors are internal to the main unit. However, the perimeter and ignition/starter kill are external add ons.

Both pluged into this which plugs into the main unit.

perimeter

ignition/starter kill (really just a relay controled by the alarm unit)

All of it plugged in ready for install

Now all you need to do is hook up the positive power lead to the battery. Now if you didn't go with the bdm harness hook up you're done. Just set it up.

For the bdm harness all you have to do is pull this harness that connects to your tail lights.

Open it and basically the new added harness goes inline

Now if you have the ignition/starter kill. You CAN NOT hook it up to your EHC or ignition. You will have adverse side affects. However, there are other ways. But to keep things private and "secure" if you want to know how you will have to PM me.

Now you have this ball of wiring and mess hanging outside the side of the bike.

Zip tie the wires together to help organize the rat's nest.

I relocated the horn to the front and zip tied the alarm to the horns bracket. Now granted later I moved the alarm to a new bracket under the cowl area.

Now button everything up.

Thanks a bunch Gas Man! I paid someone to install on my other bike. I have the i500. I thought before I would mess it up I wasted $45 bucks. I would like to PM you for the starter disconnect/kill wiring. I also had it installed on other bike but not sure how and dont want to mess up this dogs electical unit. The info you have posted has probably saved 1000's to others. Your knowledge is very valuable.
