How to check the mileage on my unmounted speedo?

I got one OEM speedo from a 2005 pitbull, i dont have the bike right now and i would like to get the mileage,
so by any chance somebody knows how to connect it in order to get the mileage?

Easy just run a positive and negative wire from a 12v source to the connector. Alligator clips make it easy
