Help electrical issue

2008 K9 with original ehc. Bike only starts when i use the slam switch. When i press the run/start switch just hear the CR's but starter does not engage. Checked voltage at green wire and reads 8 volts and stays at 8 even with start switch pressed. Has a newer battery and i do have an extra stop/start switch but replaced the current one a couple years ago. One other odd thing it did was yesterday turned the key and had nothing then the hazard lights came on. Eventually after turning key off and on the gauge and headlight came on but still no start with switch. Do I need to get ehc tested?

Sounds like a bad battery, try jumpstarting off of a car battery without the Car running.

I'll give that a try just seems strange starts fine with slam. I'm on my third battery in less than a year and it is always kept on a tender

May want to check your hand control switch it could also be a shorted wire which could cause the hazard light issue.

Also may want to check the headlight harness, I had similar issues and I found mine had melted.

Thx for the info and I will check that out as well. Unfortunately we went from 60 degrees yesterday to cold and blowing snow today!

Exact same thing happened to mine and I changed the right hand control board stop ,start switch and it fixed the problem worth a go easy fix

That is the exact problem my dog is doing. Lights and speedo came on just fine when a bit warmer out. Battery and connections are good so I will start simple first with the start stop switch
