Hard to ride???

by the way....do an intro if you post ever again.

BIG DOG WARNING!! Here are some issues I have encountered with my big dog pit bull: A loud powerful rumble emitting through the exhaust, high glare from over abundant chrome, difficulty riding in public unnoticed, neck snapping acceleration, difficulty staying off the saddle, difficulty in reducing riding time, often unable to take the short way home, hassled by females wanting a ride, the 300 series rear tire intimidates other bikes around town...oh and I accidentally sucked a harley softail up one of my exhaust pipes while passing it the other day! Consider these things very carefully before you purchase!

Agree with all posters - great comments. My '07 Pitbull is my third bike and hands down the best bike in terms of sheer quality and fun factor. Comparing a Harley to a Big Dog is like comparing a Toyota to a Bentley - yeah, everyone has a Toyota, but you get a HELL of a lot more looks and have a HELL of a lot more fun with the Bentley. You will not be sorry with your purchase of a Big Dog - they are flat out awesome.

Can only speak for myself here.... I would have a huge issue.......If my giant MANGINA was dragging and got in the way during my 1/2 acre turn around area or it was sore. Maybe a couch on wheels is the answer for me:job:....lmao

Im sixty and ride a ridgeback. I riden from kc to sturgis and all around the black hills even iron mountain road with no issues. I came from a Heritage Sringer and the front end feels the same. Take it slow in the beginning and you will be fine.
Firedog, you got me by three years...I rode my Ridgeback 450 miles last weekend and yeah my ass was sore but hey, it was a blast!! My 08' has over 27,000 miles that I put on it and I love the way it rides. (Well, sometimes a pothole or bridge abuttment will get my attention!!) Good Luck in finding a sled Jarrod.

Thanks for all the responses guys. It helps to hear it from experience... I have a hard time believing anyone that is selling something that couldn't be better. Then why sell it??? Didn't realize the k9 is the same in a soft tail. I feel like just another scooter on the road with all th HD's around now. Like a Prius... Ha not really but close. :). Look forward to all the "negatives" that someone posted above. Don't seem to have any of those on the low rider anymore. I gues I worked out all those bugs. I look forward to having them again soon. Come on spring!

Well life has a way of changing things. Some folks bought these bikes for status. After a few rides they figured out it was way more than they could handle. Others have issues in life that call for a sale. Doesn't mean they aren't some bad ass bikes. My bike is currently for sale, but make no mistake, I will be getting another one.... why ride a cookie cutter? Buy a Dog and you'll only be looking back to find your buddies.

What's wrong with a Prius?? Mine is cool as hell. LOL. I call it the nerd mobile!

My experience - rode HD's, on/off's and basic Honda Shadow type bikes before i got the Pitbull. The first time I left the driveway I almost drove it into the woods. It doesn't turn like a "regular" bike. It was probably a good 150 miles before I really started to get a feel for the bike, and that's when it got REALLY good. For me, a test ride may have scared me away. I needed some time to adjust. Now I just love to ride it...like I stole it!

If you like the looks, can afford it, have garage space for it, and can wrench, then buy it. I have an 08 Ridgeback with about 10,000 miles. I ride to work almost very day. I bought it with about 2558 miles from a forum member and it runs great.

I ran 500 miles each way to the ROT Rally in June and did not get a sore butt.

The engine is not rubber mounted so it will take awhile to get used. A 1 to 300 mile day is a great day ride.

I can not speak for the 300 back tire, but, 330 back tire is awesome.

I wish I had more money.
Were talking a stock bike vs. a hopped up 113. I bet there a guy or two here that would gladly take your bet. Now drop the money you spent on that pig and put it into a 117 and I bet you wouldn't be smiling to long.

HMAN can I take you up on that??? We'll see whose in whose mirrors...:lol:

I went from a fatboy to a chopper. The only difference is the cornering. I'm actually more comfortable on the chopper because I'm 6'2" and can stretch out more.

At a month shy of 64, I can honestly say, "I prefer a rigid" ~ Gotta love the way that rear fender just wraps around and hugs the rear tire. Like another member said, you will need a bit more real estate to turn the mutha around, just pick your place. Two of the three bikes in my garage, are RIGID!!! Pull the trigger, you will never look back.

I agree with the others on here. I bought my first ridged about a year ago. I love that thing! Thought the ride would be hell on my back, but none the less went ahead an bought my 05 Ridgeback, the deal was too good to pass up. The ride was not as bad as I had expected and yes it takes some getting use to turning the baby around but you'll get it... :D :2thumbs:
