hard crank no start

my 05 chopper cranks hard but does not start. i rebuilt the starter, put fresh gas in, wire brushed the plugs, installed new battery and now it cranks hard but does not fire.....any suggestions?? thanks for the help

Check if you have spark at the plugs. If you do check fuel.

Better do an intro or you will get yelled at
Can you tell if the compression releases are working when you hit the start button? They should click and you can feel them move if you put your finger on top of the rubber boot.

I just re read this...are you stating it cranks hard, like hard to turn over? Or cranks hard, like turns over great?

if the bike has been setting for an extended period of time you may have a carb issue such as a stuck needle, preventing fuel filling the bowl.

Ok..like others said already, might want to check for spark. A new set of plugs might help as well @ $2.50 ea
If the carb had fuel in it for that long, it will most likely need to be cleaned as well. The Ethanol in the fuel now a days is bad news for your fuel system. Sitting for 7 months, I'm sure it is black gunk in the float bowl.

Shitcan the sparkplugs like andy said,there cheap....Set correct gap and check for spark with a SPARK CHECKING TOOL,there cheap also......ALSO like andy said the Ethanol is horrible and VERY corrossive to fuel system components and will damage your carb quickly,especially if it has been sitting for 7 months....
If you have good,clean,strong spark,your getting fuel, and it still wont pop,or try to light off.....pull carb,its probally gummed up........AND like Sven stated from the begining,when was this thing last running,like 7 or 8 months ago??...sitting that long with carb loaded full of this new shitty fuel is no good.....
Last thing,check all your grounds and stuff under your seat,check EHC connections,make sure there good.....When I first got my bike,I had shitty connections and grounds that rattled loose all over the place...

Starter spins fast with the spark plugs in it? Is that assumption? Without another word out of my mouth, one must not chase their tail and eliminate one of the amigos, so there is no doubt: 2 to go. We want to eliminate compression before attempting the other suggestions: Consider this Step #1 Penultimate step. If you have less than 100 psi or zero compression, you no longer need follow the list below. But if you have compression and they are equal between cylinders? Follow step [buy] step you follow the suggestions where needed:

Step #2.

Have you checked for spark at the plugs

Step #3. Install both plugs into their coil wires. Ground the spark plugs to the head, but away from the rushing fuel mist headed out of the cylinder or up she goes with the house. Note both sparking. If not, continue to next step.

... check EHC connections,make sure there good.

Step #4

If you do [have spark] check fuel.

Step #5.

... and it still wont pop... pull carb,its probably gummed up
