?-Handling Characteristics of the K-9

I've owned an '05 Chopper for bout 2 years and love it. Purchased it over the K-9 because of the smaller 250 back tire, to hopefully handle better in the mountains, curves, rain, Louisiana rough tight rural roads(not an interstate rider), etc. Now my dilemma - I've always loved the K-9 and that monster 300 tire and now offered one, so would appreciate any K-9 owners input as to handling characteristics pertaining not only to my riding style but all styles and characteristics. Thanks Jimmy

I ridden both the K9 and the Mastiff, with the 300 rear tire, they handle great. Both the guys the own them, keep up with my Chopper just fine. Except in the straight- a-ways, when they blow by me, and leave me in the dust.

If you want the 300 you will get used to it. In my opinion the 250 is a little more able to be "zippy" I don't know how else to describe it. Easier to cut corners like 90 degree corners and thats being picky! Otherwise its the same and fatter is cooler!

Mountains in Louisiana:oldconfused: I thought it was below sea level:oldlaugh:
Not all of Louisiana, I believe just New Orleans is below sea level. We have some beautiful riding country from flat, winding, curviy historic Cane River Country(plantations, historic landmarks, etc) to the beautiful hilly, winding, Kisatchie National Forest. Also we are 4 hours from the moutains of Arkansas/Oklahoma or the ocean(beach), which ever is your pleasure - ideal place to live, being the oldest settlement of the Louisiana Purchase(302 yrs old this year). Voted the 'Best Small Town In The USA' with its historic decor and brick Front Street overlooking the beautiful Cane River, besides ranking in the top 10 Christmas Festivals in the US.
As far as going fast, straight, and looking good on your ride - naw lets see some beautiful country, camp on the beach or in the mountains while making your scoot look good. As you can see I'm old Harley from the 70's, where if it ain't worth kicking it ain't worth riding - trying to figure out a kicker on my Dog, with a hell of a long kicker arm.

Jonathan, I can't place Mark, but am sure we've crossed paths - no larger than Natchitoches is. I'll try and look you 2 up saturday, if I don't go south for Mardi Gras as promised - kicking myself as suppose to be 72*. My cell # is 318-652-0578 and would like to get together as my group 'Independent Motorcycle Riders Of Natchitoches' which puts on the 'River Run/Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival' in September for charity(Boys & Girls Club, amongst others) have some rides in the make & would love your help/participation. Also, I'm trying to get back in the saddle, as my toys had to go by the wayside while my son ran a 5 state motocross circuit for bout 5 yrs & guess who the wrench was(believe it or not I use to wrench on Harley's in James Wallace's era - 70's & 80's). Oh, my brother just purchased an 05 Chopper, besides having 5 big twins(all strung out to the max), so we may have to start a BDM Club.
