UPDATE.................
I'd like to say thanks to Prairiehorse and Dingo for sending me their ecu's to try. Prairiehorse's ecu came off an 05 RB and when I plugged it in, the K-9 fired right up. I had also put a brand new battery in at the same time. With the bike running I checked the volts from the battery and it read 17 volts, so I knew something else was wrong. I also put a new 40amp fuse in as well.
I contacted Curtis from WSW and Andrew (bigdogtech) and they both said I probably have a voltage regulator that is bad. With the VR being bad, that was more than likely the root problem that the ecu fried in the first place. I spoke with Curtis and Andrew on the phone and both of them went above and beyond by talking me through checking other things on the charging system. I have a new VR coming from Curtis, so hopefully that will be the last piece of the puzzle to get the K-9 back on the road. Daytona Bike Week is coming up soon and hope to have the bike ready to go.
Andrew explained in great detail about the stator and rotor functions and if the new VR doesn't fix the problem, then it's time to replace the stator. Based on Andrews suggestion I will more than likely replace the stator/rotor parts as well.
It is members like the above listed, that make this site great. I am a novice when it comes to electrical issues but both Curtis and Andrew were very patient and thorough with their advice.
Thank You very much
