I still feel the best replacement to buy if you can't find a replacement EHC is the thunderheart micro harness controller. Thunder Heart Quality Products
That and the switch controller Thunder Heart Quality Products
will cost you around $350 +a few hours of labor. They come with a five year warranty, and the company is great to deal with. Can't say that for wire plus.
Does the switch controller replace the stock ignition module?.....http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/general/56620-got-stranded-k-9-a-2.html#post592963

I would spend my money on a different system instead of another dud EHC. My $0.02

UPDATE.................

I'd like to say thanks to Prairiehorse and Dingo for sending me their ecu's to try. Prairiehorse's ecu came off an 05 RB and when I plugged it in, the K-9 fired right up. I had also put a brand new battery in at the same time. With the bike running I checked the volts from the battery and it read 17 volts, so I knew something else was wrong. I also put a new 40amp fuse in as well.

I contacted Curtis from WSW and Andrew (bigdogtech) and they both said I probably have a voltage regulator that is bad. With the VR being bad, that was more than likely the root problem that the ecu fried in the first place. I spoke with Curtis and Andrew on the phone and both of them went above and beyond by talking me through checking other things on the charging system. I have a new VR coming from Curtis, so hopefully that will be the last piece of the puzzle to get the K-9 back on the road. Daytona Bike Week is coming up soon and hope to have the bike ready to go.

Andrew explained in great detail about the stator and rotor functions and if the new VR doesn't fix the problem, then it's time to replace the stator. Based on Andrews suggestion I will more than likely replace the stator/rotor parts as well.

It is members like the above listed, that make this site great. I am a novice when it comes to electrical issues but both Curtis and Andrew were very patient and thorough with their advice.

Thank You very much

You're welcome Tom. Glad Curtis and I are able to help when needed.
I would still question the condition of the Rotor and Stator. I really feel you should open primary up to inspect front sprocket nut and Rotor splines. While on phone with you, you said you had 0 output coming from Stator...that's in most cases an indication the Rotor splines are worn out caused by a loose front sprocket nut.
Get it? Got it? Good! :D

I think what coachk meant is he has zero from the stator with the bike off.
He is getting 17 plus volts at the battery when the bike is running which tells me his stator is likely okay but a diode in the VR is bad.

While he was on the phone with me the other day, I had him test the output set to Volts AC with motor running, and he kept getting 0. I also had him do Ohms readings through it, and they seemed ok... It could be a meter problem as well. I know it didn't make sense to me, because if the Stator is putting out 0, it should not be charging at battery. Especially 17 VDC.

Of all people you know how hard it is to help people troubleshoot over the phone.
Fun though when they get it resolved and back on the road.

Haha! Well, I repeated myself plenty of times and he said he was doing it the way I described :D But yes, it can be a challenge...but that's why I enjoy it so much. It's one thing to diagnose something with it in front of you, but to do it over the phone or internet is another story.

Like I said, electrical issues ain't my think. I'm sure I probably was reading the meter all wrong but I did learn a few things speaking to you guys.

Was that set for the AC or DC test? Stator would be AC. It is set on DC now.

After rectifier/regulator would be DC.

I took that picture today and just turned it on to show the numbers. Had nothing to do with the tests I did the other day.
