got a question on ProTune 2

I've had the dreaded engine light come on will not go off I downloaded the pro tune 2 program and hooked it into the bike looking for DT codes there was no current but a lot of history I clear the history I still have red engine light. there was no current codes showing at all could the engine light have a ground any and all help would be greatly appreciated

try and reset your adasptive maps and see if the light goes out.

If you do not have any active faults, the check engine light should not be on.

when I turn the key and hit the run button engine not running about 15 to 20 seconds afterwards the check engine light come on same thing when engine is running it doesn't come on automatically it takes 10-15 seconds. When I ran protune2 and went to the DT for codes nothing was in current but history was full I cleared history. I even get green bar saying no current codes. When I listen for the check engine light to come on I hear a click (engine light comes on) near the ECM????

after my ECM connects to my laptop I get this box that pops up it says the data or feature you are requesting cannot be accessed in this ECM to upgrade the program or data inside this ECM please obtain a box file from your ECM supplier

you have the locked module in your bike. you can only reset the adaptive maps!!!

Tom this is going to sound crazy but I believe I know exactly what the problem was I've had this bike rewired the EHC has been removed and replaced with an r.i.p kit I believe when it was installed the check engine light and the low fuel light leads were reversed the reason why I know that I ran out of fuel went and had the check engine light on I thought there was something wrong it was low on fuel I have filled up the tank check engine light is off now I'm just going to have to switch the leads around to hopefully correct so I have the correct lights illuminate...

I know it's bad to do but I ran out of fuel on Sundays ride couldn't figure out why the low fuel light did not illuminate it was the check engine light that illuminated go figure is it pretty easy to switch the wiring so that it reads correctly on my TACH

Is it the stock tack and wiring harness or has someone updated the ehc. Sounds like the latter.

That would explain why it's on without faults.

Does the low fuel illuminate when your first key on ?

Yes low fuel light comes on for just a second I talked to ground pounder (on phone was a huge help) and i will have to go in the wiring and in Reverse the white and gray wire for tack check engine light and low fuel light

Hey, at least your Low Fuel light came on... Mine doesnt... When I turn the key it comes on just like you said for a sec or 2, goes out... But I ran it out of gas cause I didnt know.. Still need to trace this one...

Also, where did you get your Serial connection for your ECU? Was thinking of at least hooking mine up to see if theres anything, I believe I also have the locked version...

got my serial port at Best Buy make sure it has a FTDI chipset in serial port for ProTune2 or may not read your ECM.
