I've got a dirty bike -- does that count?Oh, not sure if any of you all are into dirtbikes but just started out and there are a few trails near Flint Oaks. Maybe take a day and ride out there if you all are into that stuff (like I said, just throwing stuff out there). The wife will cage up so if things workout she can take the bikes and I can ride.
I disagree -- wonderful air conditioner -- as long as you are moving!13 hrs + Austin to Dallas = 2 days, right ?
I have never done a long road trip on 2 wheels, so I'm happy following on this one. Up to now my priorities for a road trip vehicle have been: 1. Quiet, 2. Good air conditioning and 3. Lots of cargo space. Bikes offer none of those.
And while I still have to work a regular job, I am very blessed with lots of vacation and a flexible schedule.

May - I assume so since I have not heard anything else. I am making plans for that.Okay 3 questions. Is Dave's still a go in May, and the dates. Has a place been set in stone for the gathering?

Roll out bag of toolsThe first day is always the hardest for me. Once I finely relax, I've gone 12 days straight with no problem. We pack light, shirts and under wear mostly. Jeans can be worn several days. Monkey Butt powder is a wonderful addition to have. Stop to rest before you get to tired, and drink lots of water.
Things to consider taking along:
eye drops
sting eze, for bee stings
sun screen
extra bungee cords
pocket full of hard candy
it wouldn't hurt to roll up a piece of foam rubber, to put on your seat, when your ass gets soar.
extra pair of glasses, and ear plugs
Make sure you check your air pressure, tighten battery cables, and mirrors
That should always be on your bikeRoll out bag of tools
