There should be a bolt under the rubber bushing that you turn 90 degrees. Then you can slide the tank forward to remove. When putting it back on spray it or grease it and slide the tank back on and turn it 90 degrees again.

same as mine. I take a long screwdriver and tap it on each side (one side from the front and the other from the rear) to spin it round. You can then pull it out.

Just stick a extension on your ratchet in the square hole and rotate it 90 degrees. Note the direction of the rubber bushings when you take it out for they are directional. Don't loose the spacers that are behind the bushings.

Should be 2 bolts in. remove the rear and loosen the front one (center hole) and pivot bracket with a 3/8 extension on your 3/8 rachet. I had to put a piece of pipe on the rachet to turn it, be carful not to slip off. Lube the rubbers up good before installing.

Does 07 K-9 tank come off the same Way?
There are a couple of different set ups depending on year - for the '07 K9.

You need to remove 4 bolts and two brackets located towards the front of the tank.
When looking at the bracket the "outer" two bolts/bracket fasten the tank to the "inner" bracket (there are a set of rubber bushings there as well - take note how they fit during the removal)
Once you remove the first two bolts/bracket you will see the remaining two bolts that actually fasten the "inner" bracket to the frame, these need to be removed as well. Once all bolts, bushes and brackets have been removed from the front, carefully slide the tank back towards the seat (make sure you take off the seat before then). Once the tank clears the rear monut you can lift it off. Install in reverse order...
Slip on tank, mounting bracket with bushing and then finally bolt on tank.
Good luck.

Just removed my '08 Mastiff fuel tank. Remove seat. Disconnect fuel line from petcock, the crossover fuel line, remove the 9/16" bolt (rear) loosen the middle 9/16", use a 3/8" drive ratchet and extension and turn front tank bracket 90 degrees. Pull tank back to remove from rear tank mount.
