i think i'm do for this. probably do it over the winter. check the jumper line that connects the right side to the left side of the tank if you have that set up. I'm sure crap gets trapped in there as well.
I am definitely checking mine very soon because I am curious as to how much crap is in there after 12 years!

I removed the peeling, disintegrating liner from my ‘99 Prosport with MEK. Dissolved the liner in an hour or two, suck out the liner soup with a turkey baster with an extension tube. Protect the tank(s) paint job with saran wrap and masking tape. Throw in some sheetrock screws or a light-gage piece of chain with the MEK to help scrub the liner and any surface rust out. Don’t breath the vapors.

I had residue in my top pet cock from the tank liner peeling. Cleaned and relined the the tank. Removed the debris and my problem went away. I had Iron horse cycles in Decatur do the work because they were replacing my top end.

Required spinning the tank with drywall screws inside to clean out the old liner and spinning to app,y the sealer. Carswell Dragons Blood gas tank sealer was used so I could see inside. Caswell provides complete instructions. Got the Dragons blood from my local parts shop. Not sure you need to go this far but thought you would like the info.

Sure looks like Dragon’s Blood !! Hopefully all the other guys with clogged petcock screens can summon the courage (or$) to get that crappy liner out of their tanks. I noticed my tanks were signed by the original 1999 welder! Good job, no pinhole leaks after liner removed! Squat
