ok, so looking further at the Hotel Monteleone site it looks like the website's not set to book that far in advance is all.
But the room rate is INSANE -- Basically 599/night

Some of us are poor boys living on Social Security and a some retirement income. Even when working I wouldn't have stayed at an extravagent hotel like this. I have to look at the BIG picture -- I have a 3 day trip to get to the start location and a 3 day trip to get home after we are done.

As much as I would like to do this trip, I don't think it's looking like a good option for me.

Call Hotel Monteleone one and talk to the right person….if all else fails, there are plenty of hotels by me 25 miles away. I’ll drive you into the city. I think we have Uber and Lift now too. I know a couple of Airbnb’s too.

Just saw the post…talk to Isabelle…..she’s good looking too!

Darby runs an Airbnb right next to Coyote Ugly on North Peters and she hook us up with free parking out front. We can have the whole bar and pool tables. She’s checking to see if they are open on the days in New Orleans. We can use any of the unused Airbnb units right next door. There are seven units with one being a 3 bedroom penthouse.

I never in my wildest dreams ever thought these Gatherings would become family reunions. What started out as lunch rides aculminated into an event that brought a large group of Dogs, back to the factory, in Kansas, in 2017. The second year there, we road up to see HDM's facilities, and got a glimpse at what they are doing to keep us supplied in parts. The third year, it was back to the factory. The rides there weren't that exciting, but it brought people not only from all around the US, but also Germany and Finland.
On to Dave's farm. Holy cow, the memories that were made there. To many to be told here, come join us and we'll tell them around a camp fire. The hospitality here is like being at home with family. I never would have thought any one would willingly open up their place to a bunch of people they never met before. And the rides here are fantastic.
For the last 3 years, the roads in Tennessee have heard the thunder of our bikes, for the May Thang. A Beautiful estate accommodation, provided for us by awesome people.
I don't believe anyone thought any of these locations would be permanent. So here I sit and ponder, who is interested in continuing the May Gatherings.
I’m new to the group and never been on the “May Thangs” ride before, so I’d love to make the next one!

Come to N Western Arkansas in Sept. and see what you have been missing. 'Party on the Farm' is always a stellar time. September 21-24, Gentry Arkansas.

Yeah, if you have a toy hauler, or a box trailer, or even if you just want to pitch a tent under a tree. There are motels close, or if you don't mind some snoring, I might have an extra bed in my trailer. Wife's are encouraged to come.

Talking to a couple of forum members. Looking at doing the destination trips in May.

2024 May Louisiana tour
2025 May Colorado tour
2026 May North California tour
2024 - I'm not really sure that New Orleans is a destination I'm interested in if its not mardi gras and women are running around 1/2 naked -- What else is there of interest -- for some of you that would be food, but I'd be there still having a cheesburger!

2025 - I think may is a little early for Colorado -- isn't it still pretty chilly there epsecially if you do the mountians.

2026 - Personally I'm going to avoid communist states if I can unless certain laws change! And this would be an insane trip (right up my alley) for those on the east coast.

I do like the destination trip idea though. Just not sure it's the right time of the year/location for me.

End of May is HAF (Hot As Fuck) here, Bourbon street is all tee shirts and strip bars along with crap bars. Strippers are not good looking like back in the day! Some are even pregnant and showing. Roads are so bad you better be on a motocross bike.

But, I’ll show up downtown and go to Frenchman street and walk around a bit.

So I have been thinking about next May and the proposed New Orleans ride. Sure sounds like a good time but I think I am going to take the same week as the past 3 years and stay up in Deals Gap N.C. for the week riding in those areas. Missed out on Chong & Lifes ride over there but I sure would like to ride that area before my riding days come to a close. So that’s my plan for May 22thru26/2024 if anyone else wants to meet up there and do some riding. I’m just going to make reservations at Deals Gap Resort & hope for the best!
