Aren't you only about 400 miles from Daytona? Two rides two flats, that sux..

Yes, just over 400 miles. And in over a decade of the both of us riding that's the only flat tire I or my wife have ever had.

But then again it might be more our fault for taking the back roads that we did.

I have vacation requested, and a place to stay in Orlando. The wife and I are planning to be there as long as nothing major comes up it will be nice to meet a lot of you guys.

Got lucky I got one about 10 miles from home after about 1800 miles in 4 days. A broken razor blade stuck in my tire on a 4 lime freeway.

I haven't run out of gas but I'd still like to have an indicator better than just the idiot light on my K-9.

Since I am fuel injected I am going to build my own fuel gauge based off a design already done on the internet at ecomodders -- basically it reads the amount of time the injector is on and does the math -- this is usuallly very accurate once setup since it measures fuel that has come out of the tank not where some silly float is.

I might get energetic and replace the entire digital dash with a unit with this feature using an Arduino (examples are already on the net) Could add almost any sensor/display you'd want
oil psi
oil temp
head temp
mpg/fuel left
gps (also theft deterrent/pager)
options are endless even without getting a huge display that would belong on a bagger!

Actually I am working on a mod for this design that will work on carb bikes as well. Probably not quite as accurate but will be pretty close -- stay tuned)

Any luck with this system, it would be nice to see.
