05 chopper how to get the caps off the top so i can change the fork seals thank you called big dog they said they just pull off but the shop scratched the cap wondering if anybody ran into this promblem thanks

if you are talking about the tapered caps at the top of the lower(shock) part of the front legs then they just unscrew counter clockwise. sometimes they are very hard to turn, a rubber strap wrench works well. hope I helped.

Yes, I just posted a picture of mine on here somewhere yesterday. You still have to remove the tubes though and you will need the tool Sul mentioned or make one up yourself.

Heads up!! I had to take mine to the dealer and have the dust shields replaced under warranty because some idiot at the Factory put a shitload of red loctite on some of the 2005 models!!!

The dealer DESTROYED mine getting them off. Cleaned up the threads and put anti-sieze on the threads and now I can screw them off by hand.

That's what you're suppose to be able to do...spin off by hand.

Also, its good to put some vasoline on the o-rings on the inside.

Ok-I've got a question--does anyone know what the max. compression of the forks are on a K-9? Don't ask me why-I was just wondering how much travel it has.
