I also agree with the possibility of "probie" restrictions on new members, and posts. This is a very common practice on other forums, and might serve us all well, for the overall health of this forum.

Good post. I actually did my research before purchasing my bike. I even told my salesman that I was taking my time and doing my research so I wouldn't get mad when something happens to my bike. The first month my bike spent more time in the shop then in my garage. No worries for me. If you ride a Big Dog you just have to go with the flow.

Great post Knotso! I didnt research shit (should have) but didn't the day I bought My Dog I was going to look at a boat go figure , still think I made a better choice getting the dog! I wrench so I RIDE! all good. :cheers:

Enjoy the bikes and if the snow gets too deep to enjoy it wrench on it to get it ready to ride. I rode mine to the bar (Work) last night and at 22 degrees my smile froze
If you want to vent find a buddy on here and PM them or be like my big dog owning buddies (WHO HAVENT JOINED THE SITE YET) in town and sit at the bar and tip your bartender and problems and issues are sovled over drinks:cheers:

I am realitively new to the site, purchased a bike at the upper threshold of my affordability, and am suffering the crisis of broken this, broken that and the financial stress of repairing a bike while maiking payments (only 56 left to go!!!!) But, hey. I knew I was buying a high maintenance sexy bitch of a bike. If I wanted a reliable dependable inexpensive daily driver I would have a Honda or some shit like that. But I wanted a dream-cycle and my customized 07 limited edition K-9 is just that. It has been a MO-FO for the first six months and I anticipate it will be a pain in my ass for the whole time I own it. But the exileration and thrill of riding such a machine is the pay off, (all the attention is kinda fun too). It is a love/hate relationship and I have learned quick that this is how it will be. The crying bullshit from people that are dissatisfied with their purchase is like water off a ducks back to me. Boo-fuckin-hoo. Welcome to the big leauge folks. You wanna play, you gotta pay. And I say that having dropped my $30,000 pile of junk off at the shop again yesterday. ........ I miss the big black devil already. Good thread Knot-so, and thanks to all those members whose sound advice has helped me figure a few things out. Even if I had to park it for the next five years while I pay this son-of-a-bitch off, I would. I love this machine and lovinly refer to it as my "money pit".

That's a different attitude, hopefully you get it all worked out. I have had small problems, but learned real quick how to keep her up and going, part of the fun is working on the damn thing to me.... :cheers: I will continue to do mods as I can afford them, and fix it as it needs. It's our baby. :)

yeah thanks barhopper, I am kinda reaching the end of my desire to fix things myself, been a VW nut for years and finally got out of that sport. I am quite V-Twin-ignorant and plan to stay that way. As I approach 50 I am slowly losing the drive to turn the wrenches. I have a quality machine and though it is hard to come up with the cash, I am enjoying getting things fixed without the backache of doing it myself. In just the few months I have had this bike, I have sheared the gear off the starter, had clutch plates out of alignment, fractured the belt pulley cover, fried the voltage regulator, and now it is just intermittantly electrically shutting down while riding. But I am hoping these little initial "gremlins" will be worked out soon and I can put a few thousand trouble-free Florida miles on this beautiful bike with my fine woman's legs wrapped around me. I try to stay positive life is too short to be wrapped around the things that make you unhappy. Riding my Bigdog makes me (and the woman) very happy, but that pleasure doesn't come without a cost.

I seen a few at bike night plus a friend of mine got one and I really like the look of the bike
I knew I was going nowhere with the 09 harley I bougt 6 months earlier on a whim
Was one of those days called the dealer and made the switch
I never even knew it had an evo motor (thats bad)
but thanks to you guys an a great bike I am very happy with it.
Did my own service learned alot in last few months about bike
Great forum and great bike
very happy with it
