Just wondering what everyone uses to remove the fork caps when changing oil or seals? I need to buy something before I get started on this job and would like to know what tool is best to use.

The Chrome one on the top you need a 1-3/8 socket. I put painters tape over the cap and socket to not scratch.
The actual tube cap just a good adjustable wrench. Loosen that cap before loosening the pinch bolts on the lower trees

My adjustable is not large enough. I will need to buy a bigger one or a socket to fit it. Did the painters tape really help that much? I really dont want scratches.
So there is two "caps"
The one you can see is chrome and yes the painters tape helps. Dont use an adjustable wrench on that get the socket.
Under that nice shiny not scratched chrome cap is the actual fork tube cap. Currently hidden in the top tree! That you can take off with an adjustable you can't get a socket on it as it's just flat on two sides. Perfect for an adjustable wrench. You should have an adjustable wrench big enough for that cap it's much smaller.

Gotcha! First time doing this job. Is the size socket I need an 1-3/8"?
Confirmed it's a big one! I think it's the biggest on the bike actually. And you probably won't use it for anything else haha. Kinda how those big sockets go

Drive pulley nut on the right side of tranny is 1-7/8"
The biggest nut is usually sitting on the seat. At least it is on my bike.

If your just changing the fork oil ....just flip the bike over.
