Foot pegs

Mr. Wright

Knows some things
I know this subject has been beat to death, and I've come up with several different fixes, but Eric turned me on to another, and I decided to give it a try.
Amazon, about $12 per peg. One won't do both pegs.

It's a piece of rubber stretched around a plastic tube. It comes in 3 different sizes. I got the largest.

Cut all the rubber off your peg and polish it. Slide the tube over the peg, aline the end, as you pull the inside plastic out.

Trim off the excess.

Put the cap back on and install.

To show you how tight it is on the peg, I screwed up on my first try, and didn't get it aligned on the end. You can't see it in the picture, but I've only pulled a little over an inch of the inside out, and it took over two hours, with needle nose pliers, to pull it up to where it supposed to be. Had I not stopped when I did, there is no way I could have saved it.

I don't know -- still like the idea of the radiator hose. It's great to screw with Harley riders when they know you're riding an american V-twin and you tell them you just put a new radiator hose on the bike! The strange looks you get are priceless -- especially if you go tell them to look for it! Really its there -- right in front if you!

Let use know how well this works, looks like it might be good option for the grips if it comes in the right size/thickness.

I hadn't had a chance to post it but I got about 4k miles on the re-grip and it still looks like the day I put it on the foot pegs. They were actually on the ridgeback at Dave's back in Sept

Thanks for posting Shannon!

Brilliant!!! I’m a high-voltage Lineman by trade. We use very similar called shrinks with rip cords that I use on just about every handle of every tool in my shed. Elastimold makes them. Great idea brother!!!
