Finished making Handlebars

I just finished making my handle bars. They are mounted on my forks.
I also Moved my tank up in West Coast Chopper fashion 2.5"
fabbed a new speedo housing and moved it to my intake. I still have to
install my Idiot lights. I rewired all the buttons i use to the right side. I am
going to fill in where the buttons go on the left side and install my Idiot
lights there.

I used roll bar couplings and had them bored out to 1 13/16 the size of my
Black Dragon Forkes. Bought some 1.25" tubing and had them milled on the
end to 1.17" for the grips to fit.

If the bike looks small its because i'm not 6'6"

Tank lift

Nice job! :2thumbs:

The tank.... have you done something to it to lift the front end up?

The metal strap that the tank bushings sit on a made new and instead of
straight across it is "U" shaped. the "U" is what gives it the lift. Instead of having the next strap that has the bolts go throught into the tank I fabbed
"washers"

Al has done more cool custom mods than anyone I know! I love that sexy bike! Too bad the mods weren't finished for our photoshoot.

Nice job on the bars they look comfortable. Love the springer! What kind is it? I once put a skull headlight on my chopper and couldn't see a thing so I mounted another headlight under like you did. think I'll do it again now that I see yours.

more info

I bought these clamps on ebay. they are for roll bars. they were 1.75" ID
I had a machine shop punch them out to 1.8125 " which is what I needed for my "AMERICAN SUSPENSION SPRINGER"
Then drilled a 1.25" hole in center of clamps to insert handle bars. welded on
both sides for strength. I had done a search and asked a question on the step down or taper on our bars. The answer was they are 1.25" all the way. WELL
THEY ARENT :) 5 inches from the end I had to have the bars machined from 1.25" to 1.17" for the grips to fit. I also found the chrome 1.5" caps on ebay to cover the original holes for bars in top of the trees. I would put spikes to match but have not found 1.5" yet. and the caps were only $6.00

I dont have a horn, I have a wireplus so I dont have a "run" button. And I fabbed a tag bracket and single old school tail light that I posted a year ago.
sooooo no turn signals. since this is the case I wired my run/stop to be my
high/low bean "the cap actually switches so it reads properly" and made my
right turn signal button the kill switch. I am going to fill in the holes on the left controls and add my idiot lights there. To make the tank run about .25" over the bottom of the backbone which is "parelell" to the rear mount you must raise the tank 2.5" I am really happy with the look.

I have a video of it going down the road. I have no idea how to post that. so I will send it to Biker Babe to post for me. lol

Any and all questions????

The bars are independent from each other. my concern was of my size and pulling my azz up off the seat on a bump. I had added AC Delco engine sealer on the forks where the mounts are. NO SLIPPING AT ALL! if they did twist around on me i was going to simple put a set screw in to hold them but they didnt budge.
