Fender struts bolts steered off

So, easy outting em out wasn't working, so just went through the bits up sizing until I got to 21/64, then tapped it out using the 3/8 × 16 bit.. keeping everything lubricated with pb blaster so didn't hurt me bits or the frame. Good to go for another 10k miles I'm hoping.. these bolts are alot stronger then the factory zinc bolts.. so I think I'll be good! And of course my little man was helping along the way!View attachment 37470 View attachment 37471 View attachment 37472 View attachment 37473 View attachment 37474

Right.. that little guy and my oldest daughter is always in the garage whenever I'm working.. years ago before the dog I was putting a new radiator in my chevelle and she got on the creeper and went under and put the hose clamp on with the nut driver.. she was 4 at the time.. they pay close attention whenever I'm working, weather it's drywall, wood work or automotive.. they dig it and so do I..

He's a cute little guy:oldthumbsup: If ya could only keep em that age ! they seem to get about 16 or 17 and know everything, then they get older and it sinks in that they didn't know anything at 16 or 17. Then they get ta be up in the years and think they know everything all over again. I know this is true cause I'm old and know everything. (except the fact that I'm usually wrong) By the way, nice job on the struts:old2::cheers:

The screw head looks awful high on the plus side of the battery, I had a mark on the underside of my seat where the screw was touching the seat, it did not wear the felt thru to hit the metal, yet, I put a piece of rubber over that screw
Ohh!!.. lol.. ya know I will look here in a few hours when I get out.. I don't think so..

I have been looking for some for a while

. Big dog sells em in chrome for 249.. so that's the route I'm going.. just hard to swallow.. after the holidays..
I think the heater hose he used was only a few bucks and would definitely be worth doing until your able to get a set of chrome pegs.

You got lucky -- several years ago I had one snap on the road right after doing Tail of the dragon, with full luggage and a passenger.

Chewed up a tire sine the fender cocked sideways, snapped a second on trying to remove the strut. Was in the middle of nowhere, AL.

Ended up snapping a tap in the hole after I got them out (even worse).

Somewhere on here should be my whole diatribe about that trip ( Panama City Beach, Thunder on the Beach 2012)
