yeah yeah.. Thanks for all the help guys. I rode for the third time tonight and wrapped a bandana around the burn spot on my jeans and when I was done there was only a small mark on te bandana... So Im getting better. It'll just take some getting used to.... And no shit the pipes are hot! The question was not about whether or not the pipes are hot.... Just looking for some advice. Thanks

I was thinking the same thing about the bandana... How do I get that stuff off my pipes from the jeans melting on it ?

I use a brand new, very sharp, flat razor, hold it at a very sharp angle as to not gouge the chrome, lightly scrap the burned material from the pipe, finish up with your preferred chrome polish, it will look like burned jeans were never even there. Oh and do this while the exhaust pipes are cold or you will have all this burnt skin to clean off next. :up:

My scooter already had a place on the pipes when I got it that looked like someone's jeans tried to weld themselves to it, like a perfectly "cooked blue jean" pattern into the chrome . I took it as a "Sign" that it gets hot, quick too!

Just put on some Martin Bros Medustas and yea boy legs are not long enuff, Solution: keep foot on brake at red lites!

I have those pipes as well. They are side by side right where I extend my leg when I am stopped. Every pair of jeans I ride with has a hole or the beginning of a hole on the right calf area. Its like when a woman wears a pair of shoes and sacrifices comfort for looks... I love my pipes and will just have to deal with buying new jeans more often than I would like. I don't burn my leg though. If your jeans are loose fitting around the leg than you could tape them tight on that leg. I have a friend who tapes his left pants leg because of his open primary and uts positioning. He is short and was getting his pants caught all the time.
