I was thinking the same thing about the bandana... How do I get that stuff off my pipes from the jeans melting on it ?

There's probably a thread on this but I've heard of hot pipes and Ez-Off oven cleaner...although that was in reference to melted shoe on pipes.

Yah I'm short (5"6) so I can't really position my legs to many different ways...
That could be an interesting poll...height of rider, style of pipes, and amount of issue with burning.
I'm tall (for a woman) and the couple times that I've been burnt were when I was just playing around in shorts.

Wow....you have the kinda pipes that get hot?????i got pipes that have case hardened neutronium infused within the molecular structure of the chrome.....sure keeps them nice and cool.....

Fire resistant Jeans, gotta love it
Check your pipe circumfrance and look em up on line. Custom Chrome, Kurakian e.t.c. all have a variety available. Its not the complete solution but it certainly will help. Also, as previously posted in Ray's thread, wrap the pipes then put heat shields on them. The heat shields attach with hidden hose clamps
Try this place for wrap, someone here i.e. Ray may have a better source,
Motorcycle drag bike and racing go cart exhaust wrap
Try here for heat shields
Tips, Heatshields, Gaskets for Motorcycles
as you will note about half wau down they have kits that are custom made for Martin Brothers pipes maybe you can find out the manufacturer of your pipes and contact them. They may have a set they can get to you.
After all the ribbing hopefully this helps.
