Not to be an ASS, but....front goes in axle and rear should go in frame.....lol...again...if WE had pictures of what you are LOOKING at, would make it easier to respond....

is that a shop service manual ?, I have what i think is the service manual for 1999-2002's,and it's not as in depth as yours,I may copy yours so I can change my brake pads.

I didn't mean it like that im not a complete dumb ass read it again. What I ment to say was when you install the axle tubes what side do you put them in on. I will have pics soon its in my friends garage and he is on vacation.

If I remember correctly, I think both the axles get installed on the right side, inserting to the left side. And I'm sure someone will confirm this. Does this answer your question?

Yes, that would be correct. The right side as if you were sitting on the bike facing forward.
