Electrical question

Been learning a lot reading and researching the sight. Bought a 07 k9 a couple months ago, I've been doing mostly service and preventive maintenance. Been having an occasional start issue. Pick up slam button from WSW . I just got done putting dielectric grease in all connections including EHC . So here the question. Hook the battery up, and start doing a system check. No left rear turn signal. After about 30 seconds it works. Then I lost the low beam, cycled the key headlights back. Tried to duplicate the problem, but no luck like the starting issues.everything works as it should. Any ideas?

If it's all working now, be happy! Lol...

It could be a glitch....however; if your low beam keeps acting up and/or your turn signal, it could point towards the EHC going bad or has a gremlin in it....

My EHC problems started that way. Very intermittent. First turn signal/s, then head lamp, next bike would intermittently die/fail to start or restart. I'd get the bike home, let it set for a few days, boom, start right up. I'd warm it up, go for a ride, bam, it would die. After several tows, many hours of exhaustive troubleshooting and parts replacement, I had to replace the EHC. You can try cleaning, reconnecting all of the JST's and the EHC (use plenty of di-grease). Start with EHC then JST's. That might help (didn't in my case).. Good luck..

Funny part is it did'nt start until I greased everything. I found that One of the screws on the backbone harness connector. Was almost stripped. Before l took it apart. Looks like the plug is serviceable, to replace the screw. Depending on what aftermarket system. I use might not need it

Start with the battery. Minimum of 12.8v after charging and sitting an hour. Battery terminals must be clean and crimped good.
The headlight bulb could have a burnt connector. Get a ceramic replacement. Search this forum for more info.

I think I've got it figured. Curtis is sending me new screws for the backbone harness plug . That way I can make the EHC Clean & Tight!!!!
