:bang:What!!!!!! Are you F-ing with me!
You say..
HOLY CRAP......after figuring out the MOV (previous post) thought I'd recheck battery, starter, solinoid etc...
put my jumper back on the solinoid
(green wire off) and bam !! It's what's taking out the EHC.
The MOV sensed the high load and shut down the system like it should.
WTF!!! :bang: How can the internal EHC Fuse or MOV do anything when your GREEN harness solenoid wire is
disconnected?
Leave that GREEN harness wire disconnected and try to
start the bike by jumping the solenoid terminal directly to the battery + post for a second with a section of wire.
IS IT RUNNING?
If it really is a MOV, it would only be used to block the starter solenoid coil BACK-EMF transient spike voltage when the starter solenoid is released so it won't harm the EHC output.
I think MOV's sense over voltage not over current so your theory doesn't work.
So you REALLY think the battery or starter/solenoid is okay?
Re-read my previous post on connecting up a relay for the starter solenoid GREEN wire.
As a test and possible fix:
Connect the GREEN solenoid wire to a 12v cheap $5 30Amp fog light relay coil and the other side of the coil to GND. Push the start button and see if the relay closes and opens with start button. If it does then connect one side of the relays N.O. contact to 12v battery (+) and the other side to the starter solenoid for a try.
Good Luck.....
