Brother,
I'm not a 100% sure, but I don't think that BDM used the EHC in the '03 models. I think it was the Thunderheart controller then. '04 is the earliest ehc I've heard of. But I can be wrong.

Do you still have the very small black box next to the battery? 3/4 by 3" Starter relay. I have one in stock. 770-752-9160

My wife has an '03 Mastiff and she has an EHC in her bike. That's what I call it anyway. It's a solid state unit where all wires plug into mounted under her gas tank between the tank halves on the frame.

Do you have any fire going to the plugs? Is your battery hot? Has it been load tested? From what I've read, the '03's generally didn't have many issues with the EHC.

G, maybe we can help if you give us some info.

Will it turn over?
If it doesn't turn over have you had the battery load tested
If it doesn't turn over do you hear the solenoid clicking
Do you have power to the module (any lights on it)
Do you have spark
Have you checked for fuel

This might help diagnose your problem.

Yes I have power and my battery 12.7 v ,Now if I take the ground wire out of the EHC and turn my ignition key my bike start ,if I do the ground back it do nothing if I push the start button , now I took my feul tank off because the EHC is between the tank.
Than also on my battery the litle box the yellow lite is on when I turn the ignition key.
But I a couple wire where loose in the connection to the Ehc module and now I really don,t now if I have the right wires in the EHC , IT,S MY ON FAULT tHAT i DID PAY ATTENSION WHEN i TOOK THEM OUT.

G, it's been a long time since I had my 03 but I think the controller (EHC) is a Thunderheart unit so you might give them a call (ask for Brooke) and they may be able to send you the schematic.

G,
This is the '04 EHC, does yours look anywhere near like this?

If not, it's the thunderheart controller.

dead
That's not even close Dead. I thought I had a pic but can't seem to find it. It has a large 9-pin plug in on one end and a couple of 6-pin plug ins. The wire going to the speedo also plugs into it separately. I'll keep looking for the pic, but I don't have a schematic.

G, can you take a pic of what you have and post it?

What you're describing sounds like the Thunderheart Controller. :2thumbs: But then again, what do I know? :loony::crazy:

[Is this what yours looks like? I just pulled this off the Big Dog web site. This is a 2003 Husky controller and Start module. The start module is bad i believe from what you are trying to say here on this thread. Pictutre on right. /B]

That top pic is what I'm talking about. If you could see the underside, the plug ins are like I described. I think I have an extra start module if that's what the smaller of the two is. I also have an extra thunderheart (aluminum square with thunderheart etched on it). That still doesn't help G get his wires right.

Maybe with a picture, Dead can get you the correct schematic. After years of porn, he's become totally picture dependant.:roll::roll:

All I can make out is that the small pic on the bottom left is the backside of the EHC. Looks like a 15 pin plug, 2 nine pin plugs and a 6 pin plug. the small slender plug on the far left of that pic is where the speedo plugs into.

G, Did you get the correct wires back into the right plugs? If not, then another start controller may not help you, even if it is the root cause of your problems. I think I have one of those at the house that I'm not using. Send me a PM with your address and I'll mail it to you.

First, make sure everything else is RIGHT! :spank: Didn't you say earlier that if you moved a ground wire, that the bike would crank? I may not have read that right or maybe didn't understand what you said. :job:

Either way, if you feel the start controller is your problem, I'll send you the one I have. Just say the word.

Yes if I take the ground wire out ,and I turn my ignition switch the starter turn over, and yes I took some wires out ,and put them in , but I don,t now for sure I put them in the right in the connector.
