jake was the member that posted the wire plus instructions. he also sold the kits. I think the ones back around 2010 were more dependable than the more current models. Seems like the tech guy that was a big asset left the firm shortly after. I installed a wire plus on my 07 Bulldog in 2010 but would go a different route today.

Jake installed my WP and it lasted 200 miles.... Why cut and bastardize your bike when you can plug & play?

Guys,
I just replaced my WP with the R,I.P kit. The RIP kit makes much more sense when replacing the original Big Dog module. RIP has all connectors to match up with the original. If you've installed a WP kit, you will have some challenges. Installing the WP kit requires you to cut connectors off and do some splicing.
I did get the RIP kit installed. All lights, horn, turn signals and tach appear to work fine. Only problem is NO START!!!
Coninues to give a stressing starter sound - turn key on, press Start and you hear the starter solenoid kick into place and strain, but the engine will not turn over.
Ended up replacing the battery. SAME!
Fully charged the new battery over night - SAME!
Removed spark plug and turned the motor over several times (starter worked fine with the spark plug removed).
Replaced spark plug. switched key on, pressed start - Whoa Houston we have lift off!
BUT....lots of back fire and associated noises. Definately not running on both cylinders. Turn off quickly and have to re-think this process.
I may have mis connected the cylinder position sensor with the ignition leads. Check tonight after work.
Anyone with other ideas would greatly be appreciated.

My bike has zero lights...and no power....I've checked everything else...so EHC it is...been acting flakey for awhile and finally quit all together

Not another bad EHC. Sorry Bill had to replace mine as well.

Some folks on the forum think were given them a bad name cause we f_ _ki_g hate them pieces of shit. They (you know them) say as long as you maintain the EHC it lasts a life time. Hmmmm? What is this the 3rd one this week. Oh no, it's just our imaginations playing games. Clean it up, it'll work fine. BD EHC's are best engineered electrical systems in the world. That's why you need a backup to it and / or a different wiring harness.. But I'm the crazy one.. Not any more, ESC and zoom zoom for me.. No need for a backup either. Cause it works. Good luck.
