That's true, I believe I remember some guy getting ripped off over some gold coins or something awhile back on here, but ya never really get both sides of the story so ya never know if its true or not.

It's really easy to get ripped off if you don't know what you are doing. Always:
1- check out the sellers feedback and make sure it's good. Anything under 20 feedbacks or 98% positive don't do it.
2- make sure the item has a shipping cost (not the one where it's determined after the sale)
3- Make sure you use Paypal so you are double safe.
4- NEVER make a deal off ebay because you have no backup. That goes for second chances that come up once in awhile.

I once bought a seat off ebay that was an auction starting at $1. I bid $75 on a seat that was worth around $200. I won the auction and the seller said it was $125 to ship the seat. Ebay backed him up and took the money out of my bank account. There was nothing I could do about it so be careful.

I was trying to buy a sissybar bag on ebay at the end of the auction the guys low price was $50 buy it now was $100 so I waited till the end nobody bid I asked the guy will take the $50 starting bid plus what ever shipping cost are to me so I gave him my city and state he was suppose to get back to me the next day never did 2 weeks later he repost the bag after he accepted my off so here is his ebay name I recommend not buying anything from hiM Brokerforyou is his ebay name

I must not be reading this properly because it looks to me like you did not bid while the auction was going but contacted him and made an offer instead.

Some rules to live by. I only bid on items that are from a seller with 99.8 feedback or better. I only got burned once, and it was because they didn't take the time to pack it right. The seller made good for it immediately, no questions asked. Well over 400 buys and sells through ebay.

In this case as per the topic started, if you lay in a bid within 24 hours prior to auction end, that auction can not be removed. Ebay won't allow it. You always bid, if possible in the last 12 seconds and you better come in with the highest possible bid. Do not watch what others are doing, or you'll lose that item, and if you happen to lose it because someone outbid you, then it won't matter anyway because you put your last dollar on it.
