Scott ask him if he wants us to reserve a chopper day when a group of us all take our bikes there and do a run and tune. Shit we all have g carbs and only a couple of us have adjustable ignitions should be a pretty quick job.
Just talked to him and he's game, just name it. Guess there's some restrictions on what he can do if you have the Thunderheart ignition. It's Bigdog owned and they won't give him the software to adjust. Or will they? :job: He's all set to adjust those with the Daytona Tec's and Cranes. One of you guys that know what your talking about should give him a buzz

I bought my bike at forest and dyno Dan is the man. But I sold 2 other bikes for them one to my brother inlaw one to Doug G. and they both had problems. And they didnt even say thanks they could have gave me a tshirt or someting. I haven't been back there in over 2 years.

As a former Michigander - wait I still have a house for sale, so I am still part of the team - thought I would chime in - I bought my bike at Forest and had a pretty good experience = got a decent deal, 500 mile service was done in a reasonable abount of time, etc.. I was a little turned off that they didn't remember me when I returned for the 500 mile service (isn't like they are selling a ton of $33k bikes). I am not sure why the owner sells Big Dogs exclusively - he doesn't seem to have a love for the bike - rides HD's himself. The negative cust. sat. experiences don't surprise me at all. Given the choices in Michigan this may be your best option but beware based upon the experiences of others. Perhaps Gas Man can start a side business working on Big Dogs - he would get my business for sure.

Cool seat and tell him he won't be able to touch the thunderheart ignition curves, not even the dealer really can. As far as me and gas go we both have cranes hi-4's so it should be a snap for us. I don't want to make a solid commitment until my bike gets delivered but lets get some target dates in mind April too early for anyone? Would like it to be somewhat warm for a better result for the summer months I can go weekend of April 26th or May 17th. Does he work on Saturdays? if not I can do both Fridays before those Saturday dates.

I'm sure he'll do a Saturday. He just wanted some wheel base info to set up his machine so we'll probably have to set up 2 dates, one for pro streets and one for choppa's. Choppa's first of course. Man, Im feeling the need to spend some cash for an ignition and carb upgrade beforehand. May have to increase the price of BIGHOUSE's seat.

I have the Thunderheart ignition, but I want to go play. What are my options, are guys changing their ignitions, started with cam, and carb, now the ignition, what else!!! I know you can't rewrite the thunder head so what should I do?

Sorry Seat... that BDM thunderheart won't adjust... even if you stare or yell at it.

Of coarse.. I'm free on those same days as Al.

Further, I don't think there is THAT much difference between the chops and prostreets... only 6" of difference on total lengths

the guys at forest said they are one of the few that have the software to adjust the thunderheart. my bike sure ran alot better after dan dyno tuned it I'm not claiming to know ignitions because I dont but just what I was told

I tend to doubt it... that is against EVERYTHING I have heard.

Gas Man,
Ball park, what type of cost for the Crane hi4c, and what about the install. How does it compare to the thunderheart?

SIICK!!!
yeah that sounds great! I would like to get another dyno run done...but I won't be able to get my xXx carb and Doherty Power Pacc until around fall...but thats ok...I will get it re-dynoed after I do the other stuff too! maybe I will have custom pipes on for my third dyno run...:whoop:

pigpen I have talked to Dan West myself on this because at one time I had a cable and the dealer software and it would not allow me to change them. But he still claimed to have some control over it. I am not going to doubt him but also I wouldn't want to have to always go to him for any tuning issues. Buy an aftermarket ignition and it will set you free!!!!!!!

Seat... did you ever find out if there was intrest by the dyno guy?
Yea he's game. He figured he could run about 4 bikes. We could leave mine out for now since it's stock. He's got about 100 yards of dirt road in front of his place so we'll need to pick a dry weekend. Say's he'll probably have to go buy the neigbors a few rounds first to prepare them for all of our noisy bikes. :whoop:
