Sorry man, that surely doesn't sound like the poetry I expect from something I'm riding. :)

I rode the sport bikes in my time. Don't need another one. I can still do wheelies on my harley when I feel the need to do a wheelie.

My best brother has a sportie with a 1200 with 4 plugs and dual cam that I can ride down the street and shift gears in the air on.

Wheeeeeee!

I agree with any and all of you that question the 120 HP that they gave me. I will go to my office and scan the dyno sheet and post it. i do think that it is bullshit that I don't have a real dyno sheet showing the HP, Torque and the A/F mixture. My intentions were to not only find out exactly how successful the mods have been but to actually tune the bike since I have added the xxx carb and the S&S air cleaner. Unfortunately I don't really have a real fuzzy feeling that I have accomplished anything. The good news is that they only charged me 39.99 for the dyno run. I guess you get what you pay for

Hey man, no loss then.

Go getcha a good tuner and, you'll be good.

Sounds like you've done some really good mods. I'd really like to know what your bike is doing to be honest.

The head work as well as the cam, springs, valves were done at KC Creations
Vicki set all of this up for me last winter when I had the bike chromed.

I don't understand what you mean....What do I want?

I want:

1. My bike tuned to the best it can be with the mods I have added
2. I want to be sure that the mods I have paid for are actually adding performance to the bike. Since I really don't have anything to compare it too I would like some assurance that I'm getting what I paid for.
3. Just like to know the numbers. I'm curious! WTF wouldn't you be?

lol, jim, get her tuned good, your right, the mods arent worth it unless there addin power. and you wont know unless you have the numbers

Sounds like you should have the right parts. Did KC install all that too?
I hope you did hit 120hp and I would like to see what you can get when it gets
tuned.

Yes, the head work, cam install, springs etc were done at KC. I installed the XXX carb and the S&S air cleaner. The Big Radius were on the bike when I got it. I took the stock baffels out and put the ThunderMonster baffels in.
KC Creations had the chroming done and the engine diamond cut.

I have about the same amount of work as you k9jim. I had it dyno'd at two different places. The first place it was at 121hp. when I brought it to another place for some work, they asked me what was the HP, I told them, they didn't believe so they did it for free. And there was at 120.

05 Chopper

Wasn't going to post this but changed my mind. I can do that you know!

This was done in Vegas by Speeds Performance Plus. They do thousands a year and know there shit.

Here is my new 05 Chopper with it unpopular E carb and restrictor plates and smaller valves and so on and on.........
This was with my new Wimmer Ultra Sucker that I shitcanned cause it couldn't breath. The guys after the first run immediately told me that the air cleaner was to restricted. So I had them tune for mileage and they lowered the Main jet from a 78 to a 74 and run 2 gave me a few more hp not that that was what I was looking for. I wanted the 13/1 air/fuel mixture for gas mileage.
After shitcanning the Ultra Sucker I put on a plain exposed flatnosed filter and has it dyno'd again this last summer and got 104 hp and 114 tq. I'm good with this as I only want mileage performance.
With a 3.4 gl tank (there is now reserve! ) I need all the gas mileage I can get out here in the western states.

This thing sucked;

And this thing really sucks!
:D

This is where we get the problems with the D&M cover as they are restrictive unlike the totally exposed filter that pulls in more air!

I had mine done right after I put the S&S filter on (dealers dyno had been down until then) and with a little over 10,000 mi at that time, it pulled 113 hp, 119 lb.
(if I got the numbers right, didn't get a printout). I was pleased:whoop:

Ray,
so you picked up 12 hp just from changing the air intake?
Thats huge.
How much have you heard the D&M spike hurts performance?

It was going from a very restrictive air cleaner to a very good breathing one. And it was two different dyno's, one in Vegas and the other up here in Washington.
Bottom line is your motor has to breathe to perform!
In both cases I only dyno'd to ensure that I had the air/fuel mixture set properly with the many pipes I've gone through.

As for the the D&M I've heard and read just as much as you have I guess. It looks purdy but you can see how it would restrict air flow with the fancy cover on it compared to one that didn't have the cover?

Later,
Ray

Raywood, dude - you're spreading bad rumors about the D&M's. The filter on my spike is just as open to the air as yours is. The only place the filter media contacts the chrome spike holder is at the front and rear plates. Where the gaps are (the right arrow), there is a 1/4 inch gap between the filter material and the chrome holder - plenty of room for unrestricted air flow.

If there was such a huge difference in breathability, it must have been something else, like maybe your filter is larger overall, or made from less restrictive material. Peace - out.
