Drive belt adjustment

I found the "3/16 deflection at 10 #'s . Is that with me sitting on the bike? Currently on a lift with rear wheel suspended and can only assume it will tighten up when I place my fat ass on it.

You gotta sit in the seat....with the rear tire of the ground 3/16th is too tight. I bet if you lower it back down you would be lucky to have deflection at all.

Also, I know some of the guys here ride with a total deflection much higher than BDM specs. Most have seemed to agree it's too tight.

Thanks. I should have been clearer. I do not have it set at 3/16 with the rear tire suspended. Just wanted to be sure of the deflection and bike position for when I am able to get it off the stand, I 3/16 is too tight what is the consensus?

With bike in air, NO rider weight, you want 1/4" of play at 10 lbs. 3/16" is on the tight side, but better to be tight than too loose. I belt will be more apt to brake with it too loose rather than too tight. I would stay at the 1/4" and you will be fine.
