Hell Yeah! Vickie....I will let ya know when I am ready to order mine! Here I am!!! I haven't dropped off the planet...I need more computer action time and less, shopping, cooking, cleaning...either that or I suck at time management cause I never have time to get on the forum much lately...gonna do better with the new year
Yes the Doherty power pak part number is 1258 and yes I can get them cheaper than anybody else will sell them for (except Rick got a killer deal). But I have learned from doing alot of Christmas shopping on ebay this year that if you get it and it sucks, is missing parts, etc.etc...your kinda screwed..by the time you figure in the hassle, disappointment and complete frustration with getting a jacked up part on ebay..it's better to get stuff from me cause I'll take it back or get the missing stuff or whatever it takes....
The Doherty's retail for 219.95, your cost 197.95 and hell lets not bother with the cents and call it 195.00 with of course your free shipping and whatever freebie i can find to throw in the box.

Thanks Al, I appreciate the feedback on this. That is a very nice looking setup you have there:2thumbs:No Ron I think your jetting should be close. The idea behind the power pacc is that it puts the air cleaner out further so it can grap more air. Also it incorporates a nice venturi in the billet backing plate that works well with the S&S cover the standard or the diablo. I did not have to rejet from my original settings when I did the install.
Ray, Thanks for the feedback....Many years ago Smith figured out that having that ring around the entrance to the carb and the inside spike on the inside of the cover provided a ram effect and produced more power.
The Power Pac is just a replica of the S&S, it just looks better but you don't need it unless you really want it.
This has been mentioned in many magazines and even this months issue of American Iron.
Ok, again not dogging out the Power Pac but they are a paid sponsor of AIM and of course they are going to say good things about them but the stock S&S system is just as good but not as good looking!!!!AIM article: Donny rates this thing best of breed. The Power PACC was measurably more effective on a variety of intake systems, some HD, some Evol. In each example, the numbers increased with minimal other changes; some didn't even re-jet. There are also more background articles posted on the Doherty web site.
Would sure like to hear more from Dogs that actually running one of these things...
I understand your point Slow Vince in the difference but just as you state above it's being compared to a HD unit or Screamin Eagle. What would be the difference if the Power Pac was compared to the S&S cover on the same motor as they are alike.Gotcha! But the independent Harley dealer that was saying "Screamin Eagle is the only way to go" until they did the Doherty?
Uh, better not catch many strangers lookin inside my air cleaner...
