DLXprodox Grips Review

I got the Raptor grips and pegs. My first impression with them : How solid and sturdy they felt. The chrome on them was flawless. I started with the passenger pegs. They went on easily and without problem. The passenger pegs Were smaller than I thought they would be, but on the bike you would never notice.

Then I put on the Driver pegs. Unlike the Bigdog pegs, these replace the hinge that the pegs pivot on. They move Much more easily than my stock did, and they lock into place in the up and down positions, which makes for a very nice feature when trailering. To replace them, I had to take the forward controls completely off to get to the bolt to switch them out. I swapped the Raptor toe pegs for the smooth spikes. (I like 'em like that.) :whoop:

Then I did the grips. Left hand side was easy. The throttle had a cap to go in the end of the handlebar to prevent rattle as well. I got it all greased up and slid it on. Once I had one farrel on, I dropped the other... Needless to say, I was stuck. I had to call for help to get the ol' lady to hold the brake while I found the other farrel and put it on. I recommend having somebody there before you start with the throttle!
The grips feel nice on my hand, and they don't feel like there'll be any slipping.

Overall, I'm Very pleased with my new purchase! After my bike getting up against the trailer and scratching my pegs I finally had an excuse to make the purchase, and I sure am glad that I did!
Great purchase for anybody that has the money for it. I'd recommend it for anybody! :flag:

I asked him to switch them out. I didn't like how they weren't concave like the pegs. :2thumbs:
They really dress up your bike. Give it something exciting where something was boring before! :flag:

Well, heck! The way the rubber feels on your hand is so much better than on your feet!
Plus the grips are the first things I notice. :)

Doing the chromed old school diamond. The big Dog grips I have are aftermarket but feel too big. Trial & error!

I was looking at them also but was concerned how the rubber would wear on the foot pegs. I've gone through 3 sets with the stock ones and am ready to get rid of them forever. They seem to last on the pro streets but not the chops cause of your foot angle to the peg. Also looking at the knurled chrome but yea, rubber would be nicer. 5 bills either way for a complete set. Your thought on peg wear?

I've never noticed the difference in the chopper and prostreet styles, but sure enough, thinking about it, you are correct! My dad has a K-9 and I have the Ridgeback. Both of the pegs were worn down well. My mom has a Mastiff and her peg rubber looks nearly new!
But getting back to the new pegs, the rubber is much harder than the BD rubber. On the stock pegs, and grips, you can jab the rubber with your fingernail and nearly pull some off. With the DLXprodox, the rubber is a lot harder. If you go onto the site and look at the enlarged picture of it, you can get an idea of what it looks like. I wouldn't think that wear would be bad on it. It looks kinda like it's just a sleeve (maybe 1/8 of an inch thick or so.) The rubber has a little bit of move to it if you grip it real hard. I'd bet ol' Miguel from DLXprodox would sell you some sleeves. He seems like a nice guy.

Rubwhore, you've had yours for a pretty good while haven't you? How have yours held up? Looking at mine, I don't think wear from boots will be too much of a problem. :2thumbs:

This is a timely review of this product. How is DLXprodox to do business with?

My stock peg rubber is starting to wear down and Scott is right, the pro streets do last longer compared to the chops and k-9's around here. I am on the original set and will need to rotate em with the passanger pegs this summer. The stock pegs are comfortable for long trips and provide excellent boot grip.

It will be interesting to hear how these are oin a long trip and how well they wear.

Good post:cheers:

I'll write something up this summer once I take a longer trip.
They were good to do business with. I wanted to switch the toe pegs, and they had no problem with it. They kept good communication with me through the purchase, and were nice and friendly to boot. I couldn't ever get the tracking number to work until after they got to the house though. :loony:

Thanks a ton for the review. I have some of the earlier sets from "Xoprodox" - they are holding up extremely well and am really pleased.

I was however concerned about the play and possible rattle in the grips. I eliminated that by wrapping some electrical tape over the handle bars - that seems to work well. I was happy to see this in your review - "The throttle had a cap to go in the end of the handlebar to prevent rattle as well" - can you elaborate please, any pictures? Was this cap installed internally or was it part of the grip (the tapered spike end)

The cap was just milled out of aluminum. It had two O-rings that fit inside the handlebars and one bigger one that served as a stopper. It was seperate and you just pushed it into the open end of the handlebars before you stuck your grip on. DLXprodox had a little picture that served to explain it. I'll take a picture of that and post it a later tonight.

Grips and pegs look great. Nice job :2thumbs:
Thank you! :whoop:

 I've had that thought! At least they rounded them off. I had some close calls, putting the footpegs on.
