I got the Raptor grips and pegs. My first impression with them : How solid and sturdy they felt. The chrome on them was flawless. I started with the passenger pegs. They went on easily and without problem. The passenger pegs Were smaller than I thought they would be, but on the bike you would never notice.
Then I put on the Driver pegs. Unlike the Bigdog pegs, these replace the hinge that the pegs pivot on. They move Much more easily than my stock did, and they lock into place in the up and down positions, which makes for a very nice feature when trailering. To replace them, I had to take the forward controls completely off to get to the bolt to switch them out. I swapped the Raptor toe pegs for the smooth spikes. (I like 'em like that.)
Then I did the grips. Left hand side was easy. The throttle had a cap to go in the end of the handlebar to prevent rattle as well. I got it all greased up and slid it on. Once I had one farrel on, I dropped the other... Needless to say, I was stuck. I had to call for help to get the ol' lady to hold the brake while I found the other farrel and put it on. I recommend having somebody there before you start with the throttle!
The grips feel nice on my hand, and they don't feel like there'll be any slipping.
Overall, I'm Very pleased with my new purchase! After my bike getting up against the trailer and scratching my pegs I finally had an excuse to make the purchase, and I sure am glad that I did!
Great purchase for anybody that has the money for it. I'd recommend it for anybody! :flag:
