Just some photos and my impression of this WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!!!!

First off Thanks Tom Great Service and Very well thought out product!
I was not thinking I would see this till next week but hear it was when I got home today and I ripped into it ...I looked at the directions and I first thought dam this might be a bit of hassle....so I took out some tools and got started ...The directions are great and most anyone can do this ,it would help if you had some help but I work by myself most days and thought go for it ...I won't give a step my step but I will give my impressions ... First off the dredded Circuit board plug ..man they give you about one inch to play with and its a bitch but doable

The Snap rings mentioned in the other How to stated you remove them DO NOT ...just do as the instructions tell you and use WD40 and wiggle they pop right off ..





Cover the bike with a blanket if your working by yourself! The Jig is well thought out and hell it even comes with its own Tap :up: Cool

After getting it in place and snugging just drill away "I bit scarry" its 30 grand afterall :lol:

But the kit is well thought out and my hats off to you Tom you did a great job with this !!!!!
Then use the same jig with bushing removed to tap new drilled hole

Now you have the job half finished ,get the "Cartridge" out apply a bit of Locktite ..most of us will already have this but HELL it even comes with Locktite ...way to go Tom. screw it in ..

Unbolt the half's and then the Fun begins, its Fun because you have to juggle the Master Cylinder and the cables and it would be a help to have a second set of hands hear but it can be done and it took me about 45mins total !!
The last thing you do is install the leaver use a bit of the locktite on this screw and read instructions on how to adjust Simple !!! I wish I had this on the Myrtle ride but I will now!!! ..I still have to clean up tools ,but it works like a charm ..and looks good too.
Two Tips Clean up with Low powered air pressure if you have it if not some air in a can used for cleaning keyboards will work!

..

Also mark the cables to make putting back easyier ...and hold off Drinking that Beer till you finish

Thanks for the good review of my product and great job installing. As for the drilling, I get that response a lot (HOLY *$#%) just before I start drilling but it really is easy to do.

Your's is the new low profile version, no spring exposed like on the original, much cleaner looking and should be easier to operate too. I'm going to send new parts to all who got the original. I think it's a much cleaner look.

Just did mine, something must have been screwed up as the clamp bar sat right behind the hole and I drilled into it. I had to pull the jig to run the tap, glad I was paying attention or I would have hosed the hole! The directions aren't clear as to where the white spacers go, I had them on the outside (couldn't get them on the inside) and the bar kept sitting flush against the inside of the control area right behind the holes...anyway, get her in! Definitely NOT a one person job, made the fiance hold the control!

I posted this in the other thread and copied it here so that people could see the other pictures and have all the pics in one place.


I got mine today and did the install. First thing is that the instructions are pretty explicit so follow them. The pics are just how I did it.


First I removed the grip and seperated the pieces then removed the switch plate. flipped the whole unit upside down and secured it to the bar with some bungies that I had laying around. Then I mounted the halves together.

That wasn't working so I did it again with a rag in between the handle bars and the master cylinder

then I mounted the Jig

and turned the handlebar so I could drill the whole

drilled and tapped using the jig. Take your time drilling and the metal piece in the jig did spin so I held it while operating the drill.

cleaned everything (believe me I did)

reassembled per the instructions

and here is how it works

Again, thanks for the pictures and the extra info on the install. THe instructions were great, but I'm a visual learner and that made life much easier

Cruise-MAte is a must have for any BigDog distant riders - IT offers the simplest method to lock the throttle and is easily adjustable. The kit contained all the tools I needed for the install - which is a rare thing nowadays with after market products.

Did mine tonight.
Was not sure about the spacers and had to look at all the posts here to figure it out.
Only thing is that once done, it feels loose, not tight, and there is a bit of a gap between the controls and the bar?
I will take it back apart monday night and take another look see.

Nice kit though.
