Dugan,
try a search (coil mount).

Gas did it on his phoenix build, and i believe that LittleBoo has done it too and Alhall. Search using their username.

Vulcan makes the parts you'll need.

I like it...

Hello Semi,

Do yo uneed the coils or will ours work all the same? I have an 05 Ridgeback and have been wanting to drop the big cover for sometime and this looks like my solution...I dont mind buying the whole unit but dont need spare coils in the garage right now..

I believe LittleBoo got his direct from Vulcan and they were award of some spacing issues and had corrected it.

Not sure what the ebay kit will come with.

Hopefully, he'll post a reply (or you can PM him) and he'll give you the straight scoop.:2thumbs:

I like this mod and it probably runs cooler than the stock setup. My next project will be this.
My bike is pretty much stock except for pipes and aircleaner so guess it's time for something new! :D

You may want to re-think that one Ray. With as much riding as you do in the rain, I can't imagine it would be good for them coils to be exposed like that.

Some of you guys running these please chime in as my opinion is not based on my own experience.

And I'd like to do this mod too!:D:D

Hard to say but I truly don't believe the stock coil shields well from the rain either. I would think as long as you have tight boots on the plugs (both ends) and you ensure your coil connections are tight and sealed then you should be ok.
But with all the rain, hail and snow I get it is something to think about.

I don't think it matters. Out of all the issues I've had with some modifications this was one that never gave me any problems. The connections for the coils are on the bottom which is probably better than the side mount connections on the stock set up.

Hey 05, can we see a side picture of this setup. And if you haven't already can you post a full pic of that stamped seat.

Thanks,

I used to have spike Setup from Valcan, but when I got my distruction Levers I saw the coil bracket that he has and it matched the new levers so I went for it. Here is what it looks like. I am not at home so I can't post a picture but if you like it, contact Cheasapeak Performance the Guys name is Mike.

Ray I still have my old one, may need to re-chrome it being that I fucked it up a little trying to take the ignition switch off. Cheap let me know.

I forgot to add on here that rain is not an issue, just add some clear RTV to the Ignition and coil connections (screws) and you are good to go.

Kool, thanks. I'll get with you after Christmas to see if you still have it. I remember the posts on the Cheasapeak part. Nice setup there and a good match to the levers.
