CLUTCH ISSUE

Ok, the Bike is up & running again, thanks Curtis (WSW) for the quick response insending me a new starter :2thumbs:

Now... to install the starter I did unbolt and taken out the whole unit (right side) where the rod is and cable hooks up.... (Without touching anything else, not the cable neither)

I did it a couple times while waiting for the starter to arrive and I also adjusted the rod... lubricated the rod and the cable (I did not open the ramps)... put it back and all seemed fine, even more smooth than before.

Then, the starter arrive... Hurra!!! put it all back on, (piece of cake) but then SURPRISE.... the clutch lever does nothing... there is no resistence at all, the hand lever remains colapsed!!! :bang:

Any ideas before I start fucking around with it?

Note: I did start the bike for about 5 minutes without oil in the primary case, but I dont think this would have nothing to do with it as it did happen b4 I started the bike. (I couldnt help myself... had to try to see if it would start after installing a new starter, new Programable Ignition, new cam, xXx kit, etc. It did start without hesitation at the first push of the button! )

Check the clutch cable, its probably disengaged at the tranny end (I doubt it has snapped, you can pull it from the clutch end or from the adjusting collars to confirm that). There is a furrel that keeps it in place, that's probably come loose - you will have to once again open the cover up for that unfortunately (exhaust included)

I just wanted to avoid opening it again... but, no choice I guess!

X2 Bummer, just wait till you get into that greasey mess:lol: or your balls came up to far on the ramp, without pressure from the clutch to return it, it will stay limp, and that is NOT good:lol:

OK, back on track..... I´ve opened it up.... everything seems fine to me so far... now I will clean all the greasy mess and look at it properly.....

Its very hot down there....

Francoblay1, Did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing there to be no clutch pull? I`m having the same problem with my bike and it happened when I was installing the new motor ,but , I didn`t pay attention to what Joey did to fix it.

I have not been able to go on the road as yet..... CAN´T WAIT!!!!!! I just need to fix the clutch and put together some bits & pieces and off I will go. I hope to have it all done today!!! :2thumbs:

Al right folks...

After a few hours of battling with it... I think I´ve got it.... the issue (I think) it was that I was reassembling it with the cable in the "pulled position" FIRST PIC

Then I clicked.... it does not make sense... so started all over again... SECOND PIC

Going downstairs to put it together and I will be right back... Fingers crossed
