Alot of times when the clutch hub nut is loose many of us think its just a clutch adjustment so we adjust the clutch after screwing the push rod in more. When correcting the problem and after torquing down the clutch hub not it may be difficult to install the throwout bearing assembly because the rod is screwed in too far. You have to unscrew the push rod, install the throw out bearing assembly and then make the proper adjustments with the rod and clutch cable. The end of the rod meets at the throw out bearing. When you screw in the rod, it gets tight when it makes contact with the throw out bearing assembly. At that point you back off 1/4 turn and tighten, and make the other adjustment with the clutch cable. Sounds to me like you did it right. Once again just my .02 only because I've been there before. Very helpful topic for a common problem with these dogs. Thanks for the advise Carlos.ut I found out what I was doing wrong. I did not have the pusH rod backed out far enough. I just started loosing it and then it got real loose. Then I took it in till it tightened up and backed off .25 turn and adjusted the cable and guess what it worked. Thanks, everbody. T.
