Well it went 12K

Well it finally went last Saturday on the way to the Red House Saloon for the group meet at Leesburg. I’m sitting in an intersection doing a u-turn when bang it went. I though the weekend was over. Called Curdog told him to check with everyone to see if anyone had a spare. Oh by the way just as it snapped I looked around and out of the corner of my eye I see an old friends bike being pushed behind me!!! “Skully" was burning and being pushed to the side of the road. Something shorted, didn’t burn the paint. Two dead dogs within 50 feet at the same time was bad mojo.
Anyway there was a small bike shop across the street and they helped me push the dog up. The mechanic looked it over measure the cable then looked in a parts book and said we’ll get to the Harley shop (¼ mile away and go in and ask for a 2000 Dyna Wide Glyde clutch cable!!! It worked!!!! Just as he was test riding it the gang showed up, other than missing my Bloody Mary’s at the Red House all was good!!! :2thumbs:

Just broke my first cable at 8500 miles. It was kind of fun power shifting the bike until I tried to pull into the garage.:D

Serviced Big House's bike today at my crib. His bulldog already had a plastic coated cable on it. Couldn't believe it when I opened it up at the adjustor.

It's a cock sucker getting the cable started in the belt cover I'll tell you that. I just put mine in tonight.

I have a new one sitting in the garage just waiting, thinking about installing it as a precaution as not to get stranded.

Yeah it was stupid. Damn thing broke right off. Lack of quality control if you ask me! I told dave to call BDM and if not them Barnett should re-emburse him for the expense

Mine broke off at the ferrel on the lower end. I was running thru the gears when it let go.

I picked up a Barnett cable at a bike shop in Memphis, TN. The new cable is WAY heavier than the original one.

I contacted BDM and they said to send in the slip so they can reimburse me for the cost.

Thats good to hear for you....but when BDM called me back yesterday....the guy I spoke to said that they can't do anything about the cable....and said hope I get more miles out of the new one than I did with my old one....who did you speak to?

Not really....I ride in town alot and must have pulled that clutch 5000 times. I would want a reliable, tested, oem system for hydraulic.
