clutch adjustment problem

I can adjust my clutch on my bike and go ride down the rode 1\2 mile and clutch goes away. Before I pull the primary cover can anyone give me an idea what I'm looking for?? Thanks. 08 ridgeback

Sounds like the clutch hub nut is backing off and causing you to loose the clutch adjust so fast...I would check it...red loctiteand 80 lbs of torque...some folks is going to say to do it 150 but I wouldnt do that because you got to remember that is a harden hollow shaft...I have changed transmissions for people because they torqued it to much...at max I wouldnt go no more than 110 foot lbs

Less likely, but might also look for a failing transmission output bearing (allows output shaft to wobble) or broken spokes on the cheap-ass cast aluminum OEM bearing carrier. But hopefully Knothead is right.

I hope it's not the transmission. I got 100 miles on the rebuild.....I'll tear it apart tomorrow. thanks for the input guys

Before you start pulling things apart give these 2 files a look and try what they suggest. Good luck

Possibly a throwout bearing going south? They usually just give out and leave ya with nothing tho.
