Neil is right, but I polished the shit out of it when I had the motor out... during MOD season! :D

Great Job Gas :2thumbs: ....looks like to much work for me . Taking mine to Rodney's in Little Rock AR saturday to get it looked at. I'll tell him Chris said to check the clutch basket nut first. Got to get a new rear tire anyway and do some work in Little Rock. I'll let you know what they find and how much money you saved :D :D .

Holy shit look out Gas!!!! Damn Show did you buy a brand new motor just for this post????

Good post dude!! Bet ya used a torque wrench on that primary cover!!!!
BB, this was superfly's scoot .. works better than ever now. Easy to pull clutch and grabs real well. Only problem is primary vent broken so its spitting fluid until its replaced.

We need to try again some time ... my mistake / mixup I thought it was 441/17-92 - looking on a map we were about 10 miles off!! Great day for a ride too!

from those symptoms,it sounds like a clutch basket cracking and failing. if you pull the primary cover pull on the clutch assy in & out.if there is any movement, its a gonner.

For me I just started from the lever and worked my way in. The clutch system is really a simple system. Its not complicated, it just takes a little time to check everything.

Good Call Chris :2thumbs: . Nut was loose on the clutch basket. You nailed this one. :2thumbs:
Hey... it just so happened that you're did the same thing that mine did. Even a blind squirel finds a nut every once and a while.

My clutch cable broke at the connector in the clutch handle housing. Had to replace the entire cable. In the how to there is a picture showing the cover plate that covers the clutch pull mechanism but there is no seal in it. Was there a seal in it when you pulled it? Mine has a seal but BD put it in wrong at the factory so it is screwed up and will not install correctly. I have tried to find one locally but to no avail and BD service is pitfully slow. Is there a generic version I can pick up somwhere?
